GE Announces Dishwasher Recall 8/9/2012
With the large amount of new construction at Lely Resort over the past six years, it may be helpful to take a moment to review the latest recall notice from GE. GE is recalling 1.3 million due to a possible electrical failure in the dishwasher’s heating element that can pose a fire hazard. The recall only applies to Hotpoint®, GE® and GE Profile™, GE Eterna™ and GE Adora™ plastic tub dishwashers with front controls manufactured between March 2006 through July 2006, and November 2006 through April 2008. If you are affected by the recall GE, is offering a free in-home repair or a $75 to $100 rebate towards the purchase of a new GE Dishwasher. Take a minute and check your unit’s serial number. There have only been 15 reports of damage with 7 instances of fire and smoke damage beyond the unit.
